The Power of PolynomialsRichard Crandall
By which title we do not mean algebraic power but cultural power. The lecturer will describe how polynomial symbolics have, perhaps surprisingly, direct practical application to disparate research fields. For example, polynomial manipulations can be invoked, in clever fashion, for factoring of integers. Conversely, integer arithmetic can be used to effect, in shockingly simple manner, polynomial symbolics. |
