The Seven Million Dollar Millennium Prize Problems

  The Clay Mathematics Institute has initiated seven one million dollar
  prizes for what it considers the most outstanding mathematical
  challenges for the new millennium.

  The nature of the problems and the effect on mathematics of such
  prizes is the focus of this lecture.
